Dear all.
We of Ntuba Clan USA  are saddened by the transition of Prof [Dr] Martins Peter Ndoumbe .
He was not only an inlaw but friend and mentor to those of us who are part of the larger health and medical family.
We are comforted by his achievements  and the distincguished life he lived .
The bible says"money is a defense and wisdom is a defense but the excellency of knowledge over money is that it giveth
life to those who have it".
Prof was  full of wisdom and knowledge , a true sage . Socrates never believed in the death of saages .
On behalf of NTUBA CLAN USA i say farewell .
Signed DR AKWO, THOMPSON NTUBA  president.

Dr Mamoudou H. DJINGAREY Coordinator Meningitis Vaccine Project (MVP) May 29, 2013

I hasten to add my voice on hearing the death of Prof. Ndoumbe. I discovered in him that he was a genial personality, quite unburdened by his formidable reputation as an authority in medical studies. a quintessential academic, medic and undoubtedly, one of the foremost medical researcher and mentors this country has been able to produce. One of the finest Cameroonian academic. May your soul rest in perfect peace
Joses Kirigia Africa has lost an intellectual giant May 29, 2013

Dear Professor Peter Ndumbe's Family,
It was with profound sadness and sorrow that we learnt of the departure of our dear colleague and friend Professor Peter Ndumbe. Peter was a born-again Christian, and thus, we are certain that his soul is resting in eternal peace at the bossom of the Almighty God.

In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, God says "But we do not want to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left unti the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord".

Therefore, we mourn him because we miss his humility, inspiring presence, his wisdom and knowledge, his readiness to share his enormous wealth of knowledge, his team work spirit, his kindness and his permanent reassuring smile - even during times of work stress.

Although I met Peter face-to-face only about three years ago, I have known him for decades through his scholarly work. Africa has indeed lost an intellectual giant!! Unlike for many Africans who go into their graves fully pregnant with ideas and knowledge that was never written, our friend and colleague Professor Peter Ndumbe left behind numerous published scientific articles in various peer reviewed international journals for the benefit of the current and future generations.

Besides his numerous publications, Peter made numerous contributions to health development in Africa, through training and mentoring of medical doctors, training of researchers, contributions in regional and international conferences, and chairing of various regional and international public health and research committees. During his two year stay at WHO/AFRO, Peter played a pivotal role in the publication of a "WHO/AFRO Compendium of Public Health Stategies"; and was one of the authors of the WHO/AFRO publication entitled "Health Systems in Africa: community perceptions and perspectives". Shortly before his departure to heaven, Peter was spearheading the development of an African Region Research for Health Strategy.

Therefore, I join Peter's family in thanking the Almighty God for the 58 years spent with Peter, and enabling him to release his great potential for the benefit of the current and future generations. It is my prayer that the Almighty God will console Peter's family and continue meeting all your needs. To Peter, I say, goodbye dear friend until we meet again in heaven!!! AMEN.
