Prof. Fru A. F. ANGWAFO III FARE THEE WELL FRIEND June 16, 2013

Fare thee well friend!

O Doctor, O Saint, O Usher, O Peter!

And so in eternity you usher

Even if we were to be bitter

Peter you left our world better.

While on duty you quit so quickly,

And so early in the midst of our story

With learners and coaches in fury

For not having finished our study

O our unsung research hero

We will not clad you with a halo

But wish you were here to receive our hello

From Camericans, Africans and others like Othello

Remember Peter the blood samples for PSA

Which travelled with seminal ideas to the USA?

Camericans can now return to Bimbia; some by sail

Bio-research for giant socio-economic -political sale

Peter the man of all seasons

Yes the Almighty has all reasons

For your departure; a sudden schism

From the WHO sessions’ rhythm

As we celebrate your life

We remember your moments of jive

Those remind us that we are alive

In a world where sound and fury are rife

Should we undo Hippocrates to reconcile Imhotep?

Is it issue of the backward or the forward step?

Keen to the Judeo-Christian or the African mindset?

You bequeath global fusion to SETH!

O teacher, my friend Peter

O Professor, away you peter

A journey like none better

‘Cos of you we’re better

Rest in perfect peace Peter!

Peter, we miss you in our presence but we hold on to your philosophy in life which has been an inspiration to us all. You are no longer with us but you will remain fresh in our memory until we meet again. May your soul rest in perfect peace.

GISELLE ABANGMA MY TRIBUTE June 15, 2013

As you sit in the arms of an angel, we all mourn your death.  I know your body is gone from this world but your spirit will live on forever.  You have left a void that no other can fill.  Thanks for all the advice you gave me throughout my studies. They gave me the opportunities I have today. I will forever be grateful.  You will always be on my mind and forever in my heart.
RIP Uncle Ndumbe.

SISSAKO TAMKO TRIBUTE TO PROF THE CELEBRITY June 14, 2013

I am one of Prof’s adopted sisters from the MALAFA / ETULE clans. It is with great sadness that we learnt of the demise of someone who was a pillar to our two families, acting as son, brother, consultant, and confidante to most of us.

He was known as “Saint” to some, in the family he was either Ndumbe or Prof. But we called ourselves celebrities. He was a celebrity in every sense of the word: a very purposeful dynamic, resourceful and diligent person, with an outstanding academic background and a rich professional profile.

Prof was incredibly responsible, intelligent and caring. I knew that I could trust him with everything and I respected him. How can I forget his support when I was evacuated to London for medical intervention?  Prof rallied his finest peers, to ensure that I receive the best therapy, making more than four calls a day to make sure that all went well. Another memorable event is when my mum passed on, coincidentally, on the 14 of May 2003, the same May 14 on which Prof took his last breath. Prof did everything to ensure that I did not carry the burden along.

It is incredibly sad that Prof’s life ended so soon and I cannot put into words how deeply we of the Malafa/ Etule clans are touched by this premature demise. Prof’s life was taken away from us too soon and it is hard to understand why tragic things like this happen to such good people.

However, this is a question without an answer and we should not dwell on the loss of our dear brother and friend. We should celebrate his life and remember all of the remarkable things he accomplished and how wonderful his life was. I know if ‘’celebrity’’, was with us he would tell us to cheer up, smile and remember all of the great memories. The last family get together with Prof was at a  birthday party for Dr. Stella Anyangwe  and  Jondo Malafa Obi, held at Lolo Malafa Imasogie’s Sawa View residence in Wovia village. For those of you who know how he loved enjoyment, we danced till the early hours of the morning, not knowing that would be the last time.

Prof, Celebrity, Saint, we appreciate your devotion. Gone, but certainly not forgotten.

May the Almighty God whom you served faithfully grant you eternal rise in his kingdom.

FARE THEE WELL!

BERTHA S. MUKWELE TRIBUTE TO A BELOVED BROTHER June 13, 2013

Dear Prof,

When I heard of your passing on, the obvious three lettered question “WHY”? came to my mind, and when I could find no answers, the lyrics of this song came to my mind,` I am not skilled to understand what God has hath willed, what God has planned………..CH 698’. Then I remembered God is all in all.

You impacted a lot in my life from my childhood to date. You were my brother, then my boss,  my teacher and mentor in various stages of my life. I will forever be grateful to you, and remember you for all that you did in my life.

As a brother you advised me on the need for education and persistent hard work which I followed and succeeded well. After my education when I decided to get married and start a family of my own, it was not your line of thinking, so we disagreed a bit, but when the children started coming, you spoilt them with gift and taking them out regularly. They always looked forward to your outings. You encouraged them on the need for hard work in school which they followed and knew you will be there for more advice and encouragements after their University education, but all of these is no more.

Then you became my boss in 1994 when I joined the CSCCD team. You worked so hard and achieved so much in your life that you earned the envy of many. As my boss, I learnt a lot from you especially hard work. We could not leave the office until all the day’s work is done, even if it means staying in the office till 8.00pm. In all, we recorded good results. You encouraged team work and made us to learn things from other departments which were for our benefits. Thanks a lot.

I will forever remember you for the wonderful things you did to me and my family. I fell you have gone to one of your numerous trips and will soon be back, not that we are preparing for your funeral

We thank God fro your fulfilled life and for taking you to a land of no betrayal, no frustration, no sorrow and no pain.

We will forever remember you.

Rest in peace Prof.

Your Sister,

Bertha S. Mukwele
